Who are we?
At Thames Water, every one of our actions, big and small, matters every day. Water is essential to daily life, and that means our business is always open.

What you will be doing
As a Construction & Integration Engineer, you will be ensuring our delivery contractors are safely constructing, commissioning, and handing over the required assets to time, quality, and cost.

Whilst also overseeing core alignment to the project brief or works order and our Thames Water asset standards. You will be responsible for aftercare on your projects to make sure the assets delivered meet Thames Water Operations requirements, and any defects are raised and closed in a timely manner.

You may also have key input during the design development phase, ensuring buildability, and an efficient and effective delivery plan in line with our operational requirements.

You will be overseeing construction and integration activities on your portfolio of projects from conception to completion whilst monitoring compliance with our standards related to, safety, asset, quality and the environment, and wider industry regulations.

The role will see you involved in various project types ranging from waste or water works, process improvements to reservoir structural improvements, to high voltage electrical upgrades or complete ICA refreshes.

This is an exciting and fulfilling role as no two projects, nor their challenges will be the same.

We are looking for you to:
  • Possess an HNC or above in an appropriate engineering subject or significant experience in a similar role
  • Ideally have NEBOSH or IOSH General or Construction Certificate or SMSTS or willing to work towards one
  • Have extensive knowledge and understanding of construction and commissioning processes
  • Have an awareness and appreciation for electrical standards and safety principles
  • Understand the development of design, construction and operation of non-infrastructure projects.
  • Be a self-starter, who is resilient and tenacious under pressure, and with a desire to successfully deliver projects to time, cost and quality
What's in it for you!
An opportunity to work on multimillion pound projects safeguarding and improving our critical infrastructure for future generations. Whether that's key contribution to a wastewater treatment works upgrade aiming to improve environmental compliance or an upgrade to a water treatment works looking to improve upon our exemplary water quality or simply ensuring that we all go home safely every day, this could be your once in a generation opportunity to contribute to our essential service.

Our competitive salary package includes an excellent contributory pension, 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with a length of service and a wider benefits scheme.

We're proud of the positive ways of working we have adopted during the pandemic. We want to create a more flexible and dynamic environment so all our colleagues can thrive. For our office-based roles we're moving to a hybrid approach where we'll provide options around working from our offices, our operational sites and home dependent on role/team/individual. This will be discussed during the assessment process.

Thames Water is a unique, rewarding and diverse place to work. If you join our team, you'll enjoy fast-tracked career opportunities, flexible working arrangements and unparalleled benefits. We're also proud to be an equal opportunity employer, Stonewall Diversity Champion and Disability Confident Leader and we're a Times Top 50 Employer for Women.
