About the company-

My client is a regional, privately owned business with a turnover of close to £50 m per annum. They specialise in several key areas and are making huge gains across the UK. With successful businesses in groundworks, reinforced concrete structures and rail civils contracting they are going from strength to strength and have built a recognised brand where your efforts will be rewarded and long term future secure.

About the role-

I am looking for an experienced and successful Buyer to join the groundworks /reinforced concrete contracting team.

As well as Buying of plant and materials you will be working closely with the commercial team as well when required. This will keep the role interesting and varied.

It is essential you have particular experience in this sector and also experience in reinforced concrete frame contracting will be a definite bonus.

You will be working on schemes around the north and north west of England predominantly and will be based in the office near Manchester.

Typically in the groundworks/concrete business you'll be working on schemes of between a couple of hundred thousand pounds and twenty million pounds with the average around 2-3 million. These are a mixture of commercial, residential and retail schemes.

As mentioned before the schemes at predominantly groundworks/concrete and you will be working closely with the rest of the team. The ability to liaise effectively at all levels is a must.

I also need someone who is a shrewd negotiator, hard nosed if necessary and able to get the best deals available.

Rewards and remuneration-

The salary for this opportunity is between 40-60k and it also coms with a benefits package.

My client does like to promote from within and this could happen within time for those candidates proving themselves in these challenging markets.

You'll have either a civils/construction degree or vocational qualification along with at least 2-3 years experience in concrete/civils/groundworks. You will also be able to work in a team or alone and have the confidence in your own ability to make commercially correct decisions on a daily basis.

I must stress that a degree isn'tessential as relevant experience and a strong track record are more important.

Please apply without delay for further information on this and other opportunities that may suit your skills, experience and aspirations.
