An opportunity for a building structures engineer to move into a senior management position offering a technical, commercial and leadership focus. Their current workload includes challenging high-rise schemes, more broadly, despite an emphasis on new high value projects, their capability covers technically complex refurbishment and historic buildings. Their reputation for conceiving and designing elegant, cost effective structures has been forged over several decades, securing the loyalty of coveted blue chip clients with on-going development plans. Behind their success is a well managed business providing consistently high standards of technical expertise and client care.

As a senior member of their structural engineering division you will work closely with in-house and external architects, whilst reporting to a senior partner. Your involvement will encompass client advisory stages, through to the delivery of major projects, predominantly in steel and concrete. The position will entail technical and commercial leadership, with responsibility for supervising engineers and technicians, programming work, quality control and client care. In addition, you will be closely involved in fee negotiations, business expansion and improvement, recruitment and development of staff. You will frequently work on projects where the firm has provided fully integrated architectural, M&E, civil and structural design. This will require the ability to forge productive working relationships with colleagues and clients.

About you: A chartered civil (MICE) or chartered structural (MIStructE) engineer with a minimum of fifteen years experience. This should have included design, design delivery, the management of engineering staff and a close involvement with clients. Good interpersonal and communication skills are a pre-requisite as is commercial awareness plus a broad understanding of the UK's building structures sector.
