Opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our highly regarded, award winning Structures and Civils team from our Bermondsey office in London, located as a dedicated office in the Work Life co-working studios on Tanner Street.

A short walk from London Bridge station, our multi-disciplinary office includes M&E and building services engineers, acousticians, fire engineers, geo-environmental and geotechnical engineers, project managers and specialists in energy and sustainability programmes. Spread over the top two floors, the office location also enjoys great views of the London skyline from the rooftop terrace! Perfect for evening socials, lunching and getting away from your desk.

Our national structural engineering business is led from Bristol, where our largest team is located, with established teams in Birmingham, Cardiff, Gloucester, Manchester and Plymouth. Being a multidisciplinary office, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other disciplines, including Building Services, Civil and Geotechnical Engineers.

Your role will include:
  • Collaborating as a member of a growing multi-disciplinary consultancy.
  • Operating across a range of projects
  • Undertaking scheme development, preliminary and detailed designs and project coordination.
  • Working in a design office environment, while also playing an active role in design and site meetings, site inspections and progress reporting.
  • Good communication and effective liaison with clients, architects, contractors and regulatory/statutory authorities are therefore considered key attributes.

What we are looking for:
  • BEng, MEng, HND or HNC Civil Engineering qualification, with at least two years' experience gained in a civil engineering design office environment.
  • Working knowledge of Section 104, 278 and 38 adoption procedures.
  • Excellent analysis and technical design skills in AutoCAD, PDS, Civils3D and MicroDrainage.
  • Experience working with residential developers.Working knowledge of the SAB Approval process and SuDS-led design principles and details.
  • Knowledge of UK planning procedures and experience of providing technical support to secure planning approval.
  • Experience of securing technical approvals from highway and drainage authorities.
  • Confident written and verbal communicator.
  • Self-motivated team player with good people skills.
