Principal Civil/Structural Engineer - Rail - Manchester

Our client is an award winning, high performing, Tier 1 engineering consultant who is leaving the competition in their wake as they deliver successful project after successful project. Continued success means that they are now seeking an experienced Principal Civil/Structural Engineer with a rail bias to join their team in Manchester. From bridges to platforms, all structure will need you attention on some of the most exciting projects in the country.

There is opportunity for this to be a hybrid role - split between working from home and the office.

What we are looking for:
  • Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE or MStructE)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the design of civils infrastructure in a rail environment
  • Knowledge of Network Rail standards where appropriate, element design and detailing to Eurocodes in a Network Rail environment
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the design of bridges (including loading to Eurocodes, element design and detailing to Eurocodes)
  • Experience of coordinating and delivering designs for rail and broad civil engineering projects
  • Experience of bridge loading to Eurocodes
  • Experience of steel and concrete design to Eurocodes
  • Experience in computer software for the analysis of structures
  • Production pf design deliverables- packages f drawings, specifications etc., supervision of engineers and BIM/CAD technicians

Desirable skills and experience:
  • Ideally experience of composite steel/concrete, masonry, geotechnical and timber design to Eurocodes
  • Experience in the finite element software for the analysis of structures
  • Designated CRE for civils for NR projects
