Job DescriptionAs a Utilities Coordinator, you will be working in a 3D model environment that utilises Bentley OpenRoads (training on this software will be provided on the project) whereby you will receive utility information from various design teams and prepare these integrated models to be passed on to relevant colleagues. Your focus will be on utility route design, space management and acting as the technical interface interacting with other disciplines and design teams.
Working within the Utilities Coordination team, your responsibilities will involve:
  • Reviewing and coordinating integrated models
  • Identifying and supporting resolution of utility models in a federated model environment
  • Delivering detailed models to a high level of accuracy
  • Following project specified model conventions and standards
  • Extracting and summarising attributes content from the model.
Candidate SpecificationAs a Utilities professional, you have experience working in a multi-disciplinary project environment that utilises ProjectWise. You are comfortable using various Bentley modelling software such as Microstation and Aecosim and have the ability to identify complex BIM issues. With your commercial experience, you are capable of working by yourself with little support required and you like to take a proactive approach to managing and delivering your workload.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Experience using Bentley software; Microstation/ Aecosim
  • Experience working in a Common Data and digital delivery environment
  • Ability to identify complex BIM issues quickly and accurately
  • Proactive communication skills working collaboratively with utilities design teams
  • Ability to work in an organised structured framework, supporting colleagues and delivering to the project programme.
Although not essential, ideally you have worked to BS1192 standards and followed their processes. It would be great if you have worked on civil engineering projects using 3D Models in a BIM environment as would any experience using Bentley OpenRoads (however we will provide on the job training in this software). We are specifically seeking staff to undertake coordination and modelling of utilities networks for a range of assets on HS2, the UK's prestigious high speed rail project. You will have a responsible role preparing integrated models coordinating designs from a range of sources. The project is entirely based in a BIM environment using integrated software packages and innovative workflows. It allows team members to develop of strong digital skills through immersive use of digital design and modelling tools. Although the role is based in the UK, we can be flexible on location such as London, Croydon, Norwich, Cambridge, or Birmingham.
