Job Description
  • Contribute to the vision, strategy and action plan for onshore wind OE in coordination with the OE Key Service Leader.
  • Deliver the agreed strategy and action plan for onshore wind OE, in coordination with the relevant stake holders.
  • Lead onshore wind OE BD activities in coordination with the Renewables Account Leader and wider BD / BMS support teams.
  • Lead onshore wind OE proposal preparation.
  • Improve the overall delivery of onshore wind OE and identify gaps within onshore wind OE in coordination with the OE Key Service Leader and the Technical Principals (e.g. improving internal material, communicating identified gaps in the onshore wind OE service, etc)
  • Prepare an annual onshore wind OE growth plan in coordination with the OE Key Service Leader, Renewables Resource Manager, Technical Lead and Renewables Account Leader
  • Be involved as required in recruitment related to onshore wind OE, helping with candidates selection, interview and selection process.
  • Be a central point of onshore wind OE process and project knowledge.
  • Work as Project principal (director) in key onshore wind OE jobs.
  • Work with Technical Principals to monitor, train, mentor and coach staff where needed in order to deliver OE services.
Candidate SpecificationEssential criteria:
  • Significant experience as a developer or contractor in the full delivery of onshore wind projects;
  • Experience and understanding of the role of the ‘Owner's Engineer'
  • Demonstrable experience of the project management of the delivery of onshore projects:
  • Evidence of technical competence, self-motivation, flexibility, problem solving approach;
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment;
  • Strong commercial focus with the ability to identify and manage risk.
  • Good understanding of several renewables markets and/or an understanding of the key clients within these markets
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in English, both verbally & written and ability to explain technical issues to non-engineers, including Clients;
  • Degree level qualifications in engineering or similar technical subject;
  • Excellent IT skills particularly MS Excel/Word/Project and PowerPoint.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a consultancy environment.
  • Recognised Project Management training.
  • Willingness to travel both locally and globally.
  • Demonstrable experience of building a key service and carrying out business development activities

  • Experiencing of entering new renewables markets and an understanding the specific challenges of working within these markets (at bid stage and project delivery stage)
