The Structures / Civil Engineer role:
This role delivers the opportunity to deliver back to the city where you live and not be pigeon holed on one particular type of project delivery, with projects ranging from large scale city infrastructure, through new build housing and schools to small scale structural alterations on council building stock.
You will:

Support Delivery Managers in delivering the Capital Programme through expert technical solutions and the management of technical team resourcing
*
Be the first point of escalation for structures and civils technical delivery / performance issues.

Feed into the development and promotion of the Capital Delivery Service as the Centre of Excellence for Capital Project Delivery.
Essential qualifications for the Structures / Civil Engineer role:

BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
*
A minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering/ design office environment
*
Chartered Member of the ICE or IStructE [C.Eng MICE or C.Eng MIStructE]
Desired Qualities and Qualifications:

Good standards of literacy and numeracy

Excellent organisation skills
*
Ability to work under own initiative and also within multi-disciplinary design teams
*
Ability to lead a small team of Structural and Civil Engineers working on a wide and diverse project portfolio
*
Excellent and well proven design and engineering skills, always showing openness to innovation
*
A high degree of technical competence and construction knowledge
The team consists of 70+ staff in a variety of management, technical and professional roles and has an in-house Multi-Disciplinary Design Team (Architectural, Landscape, Interior Design, Structures, Mechanical and Electrical) that provides design services to a wide range of construction projects.
The Service is a fully traded service, charging fees for the services it provides and operating as a professional services consultancy within the City Council
