A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to join a well-established consultancy who specialise in Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Design and Mining. The opportunity will be for an individual who has experience in Brownfield Investigation and Interpretation. The successful individual will be able to demonstrate excellent technical background in supervision, site work and preparation of Health & Safety Documentation. Key Skills and Experience required:
- Relevant degree in one of the Earth Sciences
- Proven experience in British Soils and Geology,
- Experience in Contaminated Land and Geotechnical investigation
- Proven experience in foundation design is essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with all parties
- Excellent team working skills and organisation
- Experience of soil and rock logging in accordance with the current British Standards
- Experience in Holebase, CAD, QGIS and Geo5 (However, training can be provided)
- Asbestos Awareness, CSCS qualifications and First Aid awareness (Essential but can be gained through the company)
- Chartered or working towards Chartership
- Full and clean UK driving licence (Essential)
Typical Duties in this role:
- Site Attendance, Ground Investigation and Assessment
- Design, supervision and management of Site Investigations
- Managing costing and sub-contractors
- Geotechnical and Environmental Interpretative Reporting
- Mentoring of less experience technical staff
- Carrying out Risk Assessments
- Supervision of Earthworks, Remediation, Foundations and Validation works
- Site meetings and liaise with Clients and Colleagues
- Preparation of Health & Safety Documentation
