The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at North Dakota State University (NDSU) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in environmental engineering (Job ID: 2936550) and geotechnical engineering (Job ID: 2937509), and one non-tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in construction management and engineering (Job ID: 2936750) effective Fall 2022. For the two tenure-track faculty positions, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated research capability in innovative experimental and/or theoretical research that will enable development of a sponsored research program and a strong record of peer-reviewed publications, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Minimum qualifications are B.S. in Engineering and Ph.D. in Civil/Environmental Engineering or closely related fields, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in multidisciplinary collaborative teams. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent communication skills, exceptional research record, potential to obtain federal grants, ability to bring a diverse perspective to the department, and a professional engineering license. For the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in construction management and engineering, the candidate is expected to teach 7-8 undergraduate courses per year (5-6 for the first year) among the general construction engineering or construction management curriculum and provide advising, recruiting, and other services to undergraduate students. This position is eligible for promotion in the future.

The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at North Dakota State University is internationally renowned for teaching and research excellence. The successful candidate will join a 19-faculty member department dedicated to high-quality teaching, research, and service. Active research and teaching programs cover the areas of geotechnical, structural, transportation, environmental, and water resources engineering, materials, and construction management and engineering. The department offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering, environmental engineering, construction engineering, and construction management, and a doctorate degree in civil engineering. The Department also participates in environmental and conservation sciences (ECS) and materials and nanotechnology (MNT) interdisciplinary graduate programs. The department currently enrolls approximately 700 undergraduate students and 100 graduate students (mostly Ph.D. students).
