Our clients have 30 years experience providing Temporary Works Design & Demolition Engineering Consultancy services.

They operate from our Head Office in Chelmsford Essex and regional offices in the West Midlands, East Midlands and Scotland.

Allowing their team of engineers provide design support to projects large and small across the UK.Including extensive temporary works and demolition experience within the railway environment.

Our clients now seek a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join their busy practise.

As theSenior Civil & Structural Engineer:

You will Support the Civil/Structural Manager with the Departments activities.

Be the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer on Projects to manage the delivery of the civil and structural scope.

He/she to be involved in the execution strategies and upfront work for projects to meet the Basic Engineering Phase for the Civil and Structural scope.

Monitor the civil and Structural critical quantities during the phases of the project suggesting improvements and limit any escalation.

Develop the Scope of Work for Plant Buildings design and build contracts (e.g. compressor houses, office building maintenance Building- Prefabricated or site built.)

Abilities to work across multi discipline teams. He/she will be required to work independently representing the Civil Department and be effective in promoting and supporting all aspects of the work done in the Department.

An all-round flexible Civil and Structural Engineer willing to commit time and effort to achieve project requirements

Ideally you willhave the following skills:

Educated to Degree Level holding a relevant Civil Engineering qualification;

Demonstrable competence in structural analysis;

Understanding of construction methodology and design principles

Self-motivated and resilient with the ability to operate independently where required;

Excellent communication skills, and ability to liaise with colleagues / external parties at all levels;

A good working knowledge of all MS Office applications including Word and Excel;

Working knowledge of CAD. Including AuotCAD and REVIT;

A good understanding of Health and Safety Regulations and Legislation as well as knowledge of Designers responsibilities under CDM regulations;

Numerate, exceptional accuracy and a high level of attention to detail;

Working knowledge of demolition (desirable)

Working knowledge of design work in Civil, Rail and Nuclear environments. (desirable)

This role is available at the clients head office in Essex, but it can be conducted from any of their UK locations. Essex, Edinburgh, Newcastle under Lyme or Old Dalby (Leicestershire).
