Senior Civil Design Engineer - UK Wide / Remote Working
The Role
* Using your technical and delivery skills, you will be responsible for delivering a variety of civil design packages for both core renewals and enhancement schemes. You will work closely with other disciplines to ensure a fully integrated design is achieved.
* Your duties will include production of designs from feasibility to detailed design, undertaking surveys, structure assessment and report production.
* You will have a background in civil engineering design, and an interest in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects within the rail environment.
Qualifications
* BEng / MEng or MSc degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
* Near Chartered status and corporate membership of the ICE or IStructE.
* The role will be varied, requiring a balance of relevant industry experience, technical ability, communication and stakeholder management skills. Essential criteria are noted below:
Essential Criteria
* Ability to produce high quality design documentation including sketches, drawings, calculations, reports and specifications.
* Good understanding of relevant design standards (e.g. Eurocodes, & Network Rail standards).
* Sound interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of clients, stakeholders and colleagues across a number of engineering disciplines.
* Excellent spoken and written English.
* Ability to challenge ideas and embrace new methods of working.
* Keen to gain experience of multidisciplinary design.
The Individual
* Relevant industry experience in major construction and/or infrastructure projects.
* Strong communicator (verbal and written).
* Excellent team and personal organizational skills.
* Collaborative and one team focused.
* Commercial and procurement awareness.
* Resilient and resourceful under pressure.
* Inquisitive/questioning, open-minded and proactive.
* Energetic and confident.
Preferred
* Near Chartered Engineer.
* Experience of track renewals.
* Experience of structure reviews.
* Temporary works design experience.
* Construction experience.
