Due to rapidly expanding workload in all sectors, a construction materials company is actively seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer (or Geo-Environmental Engineer) to join its Geotechnical & Geo-Environmental Division.

You must hold a first degree in civil engineering, geology, environmental science or a related field. You should be enthusiastic, adaptable, self-motivated and organised. Candidates will be expected to be highly literate and able to communicate effectively.

For the right candidates, this opportunity offers the potential for rapid career progression.

For the graduate posts, candidates will be trained to undertake site monitoring, site visits, trial pitting, soil and rock logging and laboratory test scheduling. Candidates will also be trained in the production of desk studies and factual and interpretative reports.

For the more senior posts, candidates should demonstrate experience in several of the following areas:

* Desk Study Preparation

* Human Health Risk Assessment

* Waste Classification

* Groundwater Risk Assessment

* Ground Gas Risk Assessment

* Ground Investigation

* Foundation Assessment

* Factual and Interpretative Report Preparation

Successful candidates for the more senior posts will be expected to undertake and manage ground investigation and contaminated land projects within the Geotechnical & Geo-Environmental Division, and will be expected to make a significant contribution to the report writing capability of the department.

All appointments are based in their new Leicester office, however you will be expected to undertake site visits and attend meetings, commensurate with your experience, throughout the Midlands and further afield.

Hours: 40 hrs per week - Some earlier starts/nightshifts could be required depending on projects.

Salary: £21,000 - £30,000 p/a DOE
