Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer

An opportunity has come available in the Chester area for a Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to head up a Geo-Environmental division within a well-respected Geotechnical consultancy. You will be working collaboratively on projects but technically leading the contaminated land side of the business, having the chance to build and develop the Geo-Environmental department.

As a Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer, your main duties will surround managing the day-to-day tasks of Geo-Environmental/Geotechnical projects on a technical, commercial and financial basis. You will have a major input into mentoring/managing staff as well as implementing technical standards for contaminated land reports and delivery.

The role as a Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer will mainly surround having full autonomy of the Geo-Environmental division reporting into the Directors. It will be expected that you can deliver but not limited to; write and quality check all quotes/tenders, technical reporting on a Phase 1 and Phase 2 basis (geo-environmental interpretive), remedial strategies & risk assessments (RAMS, CMRA, GQRA etc.)

Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer Specification:

• Geology or contaminated land background
• Ideally chartered with the relevant body
• Extensive designing, organising and managing of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations
• Quality checking for technical reporting on both a geotechnical and geo-environmental basis
• The ability to deliver a consistently high standard of managing all practical, technical and financial aspects of projects.
• Lead input to team and client meetings, being prepared to own decisions and put forward alternative ideas and concepts.
• Prepare and oversee fee bids and proposals.
