My client is a rail & Civil Engineering contractor who has seen brilliant growth in the last couple of years and wants to see this continue, they have built up a brilliant nationwide reputation. Currently operating at a turnover of £50M they have built a great client base dealing directly with the likes of Network Rail, London Underground, and TFL. They're multi-disciplined and cover several sectors within rail such as P-way, OLE, reactive works, rail electrification, communications, and infrastructure. The projects they get involved in can vary in price from £10,000 - £25M.
About the opportunity
Are you a hands-on Quantity Surveyor who doesn't mind getting involved in several things at once? If so, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. My client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor who doesn't mind getting stuck in and turning their hand to anything that comes their way. Your traditional duties will involve appraising tender documents and preparing estimates as necessary, pricing of Bills of Quantities including build costs, preliminaries, and fees as well as measuring and pricing accurate complete cost plans. You will start off working on P-Way and OLE projects but there are opportunities for you to work on civil engineering and infrastructure schemes which would involve concrete works, earthworks, piling, and demolition.

You will be working for an experienced commercial team that can train you, teach you and improve you as a Quantity Surveyor. On top of this you will get involved in several different types of projects, several different types of roles, no day is the same working for this company. You will be rewarded with a great basic salary ranging between £35,000 - £50,000 + a package.
Requirements
It's not essential but it is preferred you are degree qualified in a Quantity Surveyor course. It is however essential you have at least 4 years of experience working for a Civil Engineering or rail contractor as a Quantity Surveyor for a UK-based contractor
