Job title: Graduate Structural Engineer.
Job location: Swadlincote.
Shifts: Days.
Hours per week: 40
Hours: 8.30am to 5.30 pm (although flexible times are available)
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum DOE - increasing after six months training period
Start date: immediate

One of the UK is leading construction material manufacturers specialising in both residential and commercials construction project materials.
Work locations:
You must live in commuting distance of Swadlincote, in the first six months you will be expected to be in the office while you do your training following that you can work from home if you prefer.
Job overview:
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a dynamic Structural Engineer to join our fast paced and successful team based in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire.

If you have a degree in Structural or civil engineering (or similar) we will give you all the training you require to become a successful Structural engineer.

The role will consistent of:
*Designing lintels for clients.
*Gauging steel thickness for building structures
*Interpreting cad designs.
*Liaising with all stakeholders.
Person Profile/Experience:
*Provide design for lintels to the current standard for all products specified.
*Load assessment on lintels using 'BS5977-1: Method for assessment of load' based on Architect's and Structural Engineer's drawings.
*Specifying both standard and custom-made items.
*Design special steel lintels, windposts, preparing detailed sketches and drawings for approval using AutoCAD or/and Solidworks.
*Provide hand and software calculations including FEA.
*Conduct spot checks on products in manufacture and question the structural integrity. Provide technical customer service both internally and externally.
*Attend design meetings and sites to develop customer relationships.
*Collate information and prepare clear, structured technical reports on findings from site. Management of multiple projects with a pro-active client focus.
*Maintenance of all information/records required to ensure successful project running/completion. Carry out product presentations as a training aid to staff, customers and site installers.

Qualifications / Skills
* Degree from Engineering-related discipline e.g. Structural, Civil Engineering
*Experience working with traditional materials: masonry, steel and concrete (desirable not essential).
*Ability to deliver commercial structural projects.
*Able to read approval, construction and manufacturing drawings. Focused on Customer Service with excellent communication skills. Good organisational skills.
