This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a programme of work as the Safety & Environmental Manager at Atlas Elekronik UK.

Purpose of job

To manage, create and maintain Safety and Environmental Cases for AEUK Products, Systems and Services (PSS) to ensure that all residual risks to personnel and the environment are deemed acceptably safe and environmentally compliant.

Knowledge, skills and personal qualities required
An academic qualification to at least first degree level in a relevant discipline, or extensive experience in a marine engineering environment.
Membership of a professional engineering organisation, or working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer registration.
Working knowledge of submarines and or ships systems.
Formal training in Safety and Environmental Management.
Up-to-date with safety and environmental legislation, best practice, tools and techniques. Manage all project safety and environmental programmes of work and lead the safety and environmental engineering aspects of bids.
Recognised as the Point of Contact for all Safety Engineering and Environmental Protection matters.
Undertake regular interactions both internal and external to the company dealing with teams and customers.
Plan, assign and direct the work of other Safety & Environmental Engineers and others (as appropriate) including contractors and subcontractors to ensure the delivery of Safety and Environmental output to cost, time and quality.
Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders across the business and use knowledge and expertise to help improve policies,
processes and procedures in the area of Safety & Environmental Engineering.
Encourage a positive safety and environmental culture.
Experience of the production of Safety and Environmental Cases in accordance with Defence Standards 00-051, 00-055 and 00-056 or
equivalent, and in accordance with the Acquisition Safety and Environmental Management System (ASEMS), Project Oriented Safety
Management System (POSMS) and Project Oriented Environmental Management System (POEMS).
Undertake Hazard Analysis including Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOPS), Structured What-If Technique (SWIFT), Fault Tree
Analysis (FTA), Event Tree Analysis (ETA) and Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
Hazard management and hazard log tools.
Undertake Environmental Impact Screening and Scoping (EISS) studies, Environmental Features Matrix (EFM) and the Environmental
Impact Management (EIM).
Software and data safety analysis including Safety Integrity Levels in accordance with IEC 61508 or equivalent.
Awareness of reliability engineering.
Facilitating internal and external safety and environmental meetings.
Full proficiency in the use of MS Office toolset.

Key accountabilities may include
Managing and reporting of project safety and environmental impacts and risks.
Implementing AEUK's Safety Engineering policy and process.
Working with Senior Management, Product Managers, System Design Authorities, Technical Leads and Integrated Logistic Support (ILS)
Managers to ensure that safety and environmental factors are considered for all PSS at every stage in the product lifecycle and that
products are developed with safety and the environment as the highest priority.
Work with system experts to uncover potential system safety and environmental issues.
Monitoring of sub-contractor delivery against requirements and statement of work.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve full SC (Security Clearance). Must be prepared to travel to other sites at various locations
within the UK and out of the UK and hold a UK full driving licence
