An excellent opportunity has come available in the Cardiff area for a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a thriving design team to help with the delivery of major infrastructure and transportation schemes throughout the UK with international opportunity.
You will be sat within a small specialist Geotechnical team helping to deliver complex geotechnical design projects within an unbelievable digital talented team. You will be involved in geotechnical analysis and design, report writing, production of drawings and specifications, as well as design management.
As a Geotechnical Design Engineer, your design responsibilities will be extremely varied giving you the chance to accelerate your progression and ICE chartership program. Particular designs will surround geotechnical design, including design of foundations, retaining systems and earthworks slopes. You will also be trained and developed in tunnelling, FE analysis or dynamic design.
Geotechnical Design Engineer Requirements:
1st degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology;
Working towards full professional chartership;
Will have proven previous experience of undertaking: geotechnical desk studies; procuring & supervising Ground Investigations (GIs),
Demonstrable experience of geotechnical design together with a familiarity of design submission documentation. This includes a demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles and a knowledge of Eurocode 7
Ability to use a range of geotechnical software for the design of civil engineering projects including the following: deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis); embedded and gravity retaining walls; earthworks/slope stability; reinforced earthworks etc.
