Geotechnical Engineer

Geotechnical Engineer 18 month + contract

We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer (inspector) with a background in highways or rail projects to join our client who is a first-tier consultancy, to join a very busy highway speed upgrade project based in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales.

The role of the Geotechnical Engineer (inspector) will be to assist and support the Geotechnical and Structure Managers and other team members to fulfil their respective duties in relation to the design and construction of earthworks, foundations and all other ground related infrastructure required for the project.

The following experience will be required:

• Relevant site experience on a major (£20M+) road or rail project

• Extensive experience in monitoring of Contractors' quality management systems and quality plans and supervising of Contractors' works

• Good knowledge of the Manual of Contract Documents for Highways Works Specification for Highway Works and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.

• Site experience within one or more of the following: Civil, Highway schemes, Inspections, Piling, Material testing

• Background of highways projects or rail projects

We envisage this to be an 18-36-month contract assignment commencing ASAP.

Salary paying £40-50 per hour (Inside IR35) based on a 40-hour week.
