We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering and Construction Assurance Manager to join our team in Bristol. Within this role, you will be accountable for Engineering Operation & Maintenance works at the M48 Severn Bridge, M4 Prince of Wales Bridge and M5 Avonmouth Bridge. Assisting in developing annual programmes to include cyclical and reactive maintenance activities. You will also be overseeing and control the delivery of maintenance and repair works across the asset, ensuring all activities, whether routine or reactive, meet the required technical, quality and safety standards with a strong focus on customer service.

You will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full clean driving license to be considered for this position

What you'll be leading on
  • Develop and manage high quality cyclical maintenance work plans in line with agreed business goals, outcomes, budget and service level agreements.
  • Oversee effective delivery of the annual maintenance programme and provide on site assurance of Contractor workmanship.
  • Ensure delivery of the maintenance programmes are carried out on time and within budget.
  • Manage response to reactive inspection, maintenance and repair work and ensure the work meets the specified quality standards.
  • Liaise with the Service Provider, Consultants, National Highways and to generally represent the Company in an advisory or directly supportive role as directed
  • Coordinate and facilitate incident response at the bridges 24/7.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of staff and the supply chain in respect of health and safety ensuring they fulfil their personal and organisational obligations with regard to the health, safety and wellbeing of both themselves and customers at all times.

To be Successful
  • Experience of working in an engineering environment and capable of managing a team
  • Have a sound knowledge of Health and Safety practices
  • Degree or HNC in an Engineering discipline
  • Previous experience on major structures engineering
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Project Management experience
