Site Engineer - Water

Role Overview:

Site Engineer required for a large-scale water project in Gloucestershire; as site engineer you are responsible for setting out-line and level control for the site including adherence to the Q&A procedure set in place. Also, you will be responsible for communication of information to all trades over multiple disciplines.

The project involves the construction of a new 4km trunk sewer constructed using both opencut and pipejacking, including river, canal and road crossings as well as the construction of 22no shafts. Construction of a 25m diameter pumping station and new permanent works compound and access, with associated rising mains and new outfall. Construction of 1km of new foul and surface water sewers in the town centre to achieve Surface water separation. Demolition and abandonment of the existing CSO, existing trunk sewer and associated manholes. Modification and upgrading of pumps, pipework and control for the existing storm tanks on the site.

Key Responsibilities of the Site Engineer:

Setting out, levelling and surveying the site
Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant
Reviewing and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or designer
Implementing quality control and health and safety matters on site
Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications
Preparing reports as required
Occasional day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors
Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise

Site Engineer experience/competencies

An industry applicable qualification
Heavy civil engineering experience is essential
Conversant in setting out and surveying techniques and modern instrumentation.
Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
CSCS
SMSTS
First Aid
CAD experience
