The Surface Water Management (SWM) Division of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking highly motivated and well qualified licensed Professional Engineers. The Engineer IV positions will be team leads in the SWM Capital section. 

SWM designs and implements a wide variety of stormwater improvement capital projects (fish passage improvements, neighborhood drainage improvements, water quality treatment, road flooding reduction, etc.). SWM has a robust annual construction program, delivering 10-15 capital projects per year. 

About the Engineer IV - Modeling position

The SWM Capital section has several teams that develop, design, and manage capital improvement projects (including management of consultant contracts).  This team lead would specialize in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for the SWM Capital section, our DCNR division and other departments. The ideal candidate will have proficiency and expertise in: hydrologic and hydraulic modeling analysis for fish passage, drainage, and water quality projects; leading teams; project management; hydraulic and hydrologic computer modeling using SWMM, HECRAS, SRH2D, HSPF, WWHM, etc.; developing conceptual designs using CAD or GIS, preliminary cost estimates, and model documentation; and report writing.

About the Engineer IV – Project Delivery position

The SWM Capital section has several teams that develop, design, and manage capital improvement projects (including management of consultant contracts).  This team lead would specialize in project management and delivery. The ideal candidate will have proficiency and expertise in analyzing and designing fish passage, drainage, and water quality projects; leading teams; project management; hydraulic and hydrologic computer modeling; developing construction drawings, cost estimates, and project specifications; and overseeing project construction.
