AKRF, Inc. is seeking a full-time Water Resources Engineer to support green infrastructure, climate adaptation, flood resiliency, stormwater management, and stream and floodplain restoration projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Strong candidates should desire a mix of office and field work with occasional regional travel. Successful candidates will also possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and a penchant for innovative approaches to problem solving.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline

· 5-10 years of experience

· P.E. or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment

· Experience using AutoCAD and conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using SWMM, HydroCAD, HEC-RAS is strongly preferred.

· Experience with ArcGIS is a plus.

· Experience with coding using R, Python, or related applications is a plus.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Leading major engineering design tasks including site grading, stormwater management / drainage system sizing, layout, and conveyance system design.

· Performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses in connection with stormwater management and stream restoration project designs and flood mitigation planning projects.

· Leading field engineering assessments of potential stream restoration and stormwater management project sites.

· Leading the development of construction documents and specifications for stormwater management and stream restoration projects.

· Leading field teams providing construction inspection and administration for stormwater management and stream restoration projects.

· Supporting related research, operations and maintenance, asset management, regulatory support, and program development work to supplement core engineering assignments.

· Managing and updating task budgets and schedules.

· Preparing technical proposals.

· Leading and supporting client meetings.

· Coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
