RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primarily based on-site, the successful candidate will be joining an existing team of geotechnical engineers which are embedded into the client organisation.

They will work closely with a range of stakeholders to support the ongoing backfill works on the HPC site.

  • Driving resolutions to site-wide design changes and coordinating the input of various stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that updates to the 3-D Backfill Model keep pace with ongoing design changes.
  • Supporting the client's Geotechnical SME (Subject Matter Expert) with resolution of site wide Non-Conformances.
  • Providing general geotechnical advice and guidance to the client organisation with regards to backfill (e.g. soil treatment, testing suitability, and the interpretation of testing and monitoring results).
  • Report weekly to direct line management.
  • Supporting the PM to secure budgets by preparing wording to Project Change Requests.
  • Preparing Technical Notes for the internal distribution of advice or recommendations.


WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist
  • Available to begin February 2022
  • Pro-active and confident to engage with stakeholders independently
  • Able to identify where issue resolution may require managerial support
  • Assessment of technical risk and appreciation of commercial risk.


Language(s): Fluent English, French advantageous
