Structural issues may include: foundation issues, water intrusions, cracked beams or posts, and other deficiencies. Systems and components may include: foundation, structural framing, building envelope, roof, walls, retaining walls, and site grading.
  • Write unbiased engineering reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, recommended remediation, and estimated costs-to-cure.
  • Analyze potential issues involving different types of structures and construction problems involving residential homes and properties.
  • Apply engineering principles, scientific methods, and practices in accordance with codes and industry standards to solve complex problems.
  • Determine the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, construction defects and building system failures, including: foundation, framing, envelope, roof, wall and glazing, retaining walls, and site grading.
  • Ability to support conclusions by appropriate investigative evidence, documentation, code references, engineering analysis and calculations.
  • Must conduct business in a professional, honest, and ethical fashion at all times.
  • Design structures, buildings, and foundations for residential and commercial projects.
  • Analyze buildings from roof to foundation for lateral (wind, seismic, etc) loads, and vertical loads (gravity, snow, etc) to comply with IBC/IRC codes and create structural calculations if required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in structures).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of civil / structural professional engineering experience.
  • P. E. license.

  • Ability to maneuver in and around buildings, foundation crawlspaces, and in confined spaces, if required.
  • Ability to drive to site locations and maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for long period of time.

Benefits:

  • Extensive forensic training.
  • Medical benefits.
  • 401(k).
  • Personal paid time off (PTO) including an extra eleven (11) paid Holidays off per year.
