An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer (Engineering Lead) to join a highly regarded high rise developer to manage the design team on the civil engineering and RC frame on a a leading development in Manchester City Centre with a project value of c.£100m and towers ranging from 30 50 storeys high.
The role
Duties and responsibilities include:
Overseeing the engineering team comprising of a Senior Engineer and several setting out engineers on the civils and RC frame.
Responsible for both permanent and temporary works
Application of engineering principles in the preparation of calculations/drawings/sketches and resolution of engineering challenges within specific knowledge areas
Planning the day-to-day site engineering resource requirement and carrying out inspections
Overseeing quality, productivity, and motivation of engineers
Implementing engineering systems, documentation, and controls by compliance with Health and Safety legislation and industry standards
Liaising effectively with project team, management, and directors
Ensure all technical information is current and available when required for design/construction delivery
Early identification of design risk and buildability
Early identification and resolution of non-conformance
Effective communication of technical issues between project teams, functions, and support services
The Experience Required
The successful candidate will have the following:
A degree in Civil Engineering
A proven track record as a Project Engineer / Engineering Lead managing a team of Site Engineers from senior to graduate level
High Rise RC Frame experience essential
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead efficiently and manage a team effectively
Adaptable and flexible with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict programme deadlines & budget
Relevant engineering / industry health & safety certifications.
