About the Opportunity:

The main purpose of the Water Design Engineer role is to undertake water design and planning associated with the construction and installation of new contestable water connections for residential and industrial/commercial developments.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• To design contestable connection schemes in accordance with Engineering directives
• Produce effective design drawings for all aspects of the project
• Escalate any major or commercial issues experienced in the team to the Water Design Manager
• Design water mains and service connections to engineering standards including the Water Company's Design and Construction Specification and the Water Supply Water Fittings Regulations
• Make site visits to ascertain detailed information related to the design and planning of a project
• Manage own portfolio of design work, on time and within budget
• Ensure design compliance with CDM
• Liaise with and support the UKPS team on technical and planning matters to ensure smooth project delivery
• To be fully aware of the market that UK Power Solutions are operating within

What we are looking for:

Experience / Knowledge:

• Previous experience of designing new water networks
• Understanding of the Self-Lay/NAV market
• Water Network Modelling Software (WaterGEMS or similar)
• Knowledge of engineering codes, regulations, standards and specifications

Qualifications:

• IEng with a recognised professional institute such as CIWEM, ICE, IoW

OR

• L3 Diploma in Designing Water networks (CABWI)
