MANE Contract Services are now recruiting Electrical Engineers - Wind Turbines to work on UK based Offshore Wind Farms and with some of the biggest wind farm developers and turbine manufacturers in the industry!

This is a great opportunity for an Engineer who is experienced in WTG commissioning with experience ideally within the Onshore/Offshore wind industry to work with a major player within the sector.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination of commissioning for the mechanical and electrical systems of the transition piece and WTG at the assembly/construction sites
  • Organising and supporting commissioning of the transition piece and WTG pre-assembly.
  • Planning, organising, monitoring, witnessing, and supporting site activities
  • Liaise with the Tower pre-assembly Engineer and the marshalling harbor team for the organization of the activities inside the towers, provide specialist support in the field to ensure safe operations to required QA standards.
  • Participate in the risk assessment of technical aspects of the project and the development and application of appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Supporting the coordination and attending multiple site location activities to ensure mechanical completion and commissioning activities are completed, signed and verified.
  • Reviewing documentation, punch-list items and resolving any issues using Company project completions system


Experience & Skills Required:

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. mechanical/ electrical engineer)
  • Relevant practical work experience or project experience is an advantage
  • Experience with Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), MV/HV cabling and termination is highly beneficial.
  • Turbine network commissioning and operation
  • Offshore standards for marine operations (DNV, BV)
  • Good knowledge in electrical regulations (UK and US)
  • Extensive experience working within an electrical engineering environment such as LV and HV, instrumentation, HV cables, switchgears, SCADA and telecoms.
  • Knowledge and understanding of offshore wind farm construction, commissioning and/or operations in UK is desirable with knowledge of wind turbine technology together with grid connection transmission system highly beneficial.
