Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer required for a busy civil engineering sites across Midlands

Our client is a busy subcontractor on a major project and is looking for a good Engineer to add to their team on site, working on setting out external works, some access roads and other civils work.

The Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer role will involve:
  • Working for the main civils subcontractor on a large construction site
  • Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards.
  • Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works.
  • All setting out on site
  • Provide accurate and clear setting out for works.Maintain material reconciliation figures for reporting.
  • Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided.
  • Arrange formal checking of setting out.
  • Some site surveys and as-builts
  • Attending meetings on behalf of the main contractor
  • Working with the management team

The ideal candidate for this Setting Out Engineer role will have:
  • Good civil engineering background
  • CSCS card
  • Strong setting out experience
  • 5+ years experience in civil engineering
  • A degree in construction or civil engineering
  • The following are desirable requirements:
  • Successful experience at Assistant engineer level.
  • Working towards achieving ICE Technician or Incorporated (preferred) level or equivalent.
