Powergex Group requires a Renewable Energy Engineering & Operations Director to join this exciting new startup business. The new business will be located in the Newcastle upon Tyne area and will undertake contracts throughout the North East and the UK. Things are already beginning to take shape.
As Operations Director, engineering services, and working closely with the Senior Partner/Owner, you have the opportunity and responsibility to help shape the business, our service offering and help manage future growth and direction of this hugely ambitious and exciting startup. As Director of Ops, you will take full responsibility for managing the design, installation and subsequent O&M services for all contracts involving Solar PV and Solar Thermal, Heat Pumps(Ground and Air Source), Biomass, Hybrid Battery Storage Systems and other renewable energy technologies. You will be providing technical and commercial advice to our clients and for managing the delivery of a range of low carbon energy in the built environment and renewable power generation projects from inception through to commissioning, on time, within budget and according to company standards. You will also be responsible for providing business development support by pro-actively seeking new opportunities, preparing proposals and securing contracts.
You Will:*Conduct site surveys of clients sites and analyse technical, commercial, environmental, and financial data identify the best technical solutions for our clients.*Undertake monitoring, analysis of energy data and energy survey reports and provide recommendations to reduce energy consumption and improve energy productivity.*Complete feasibility studies for low carbon energy in the built environment and renewable power generation technologies, including initial specifications, project costing, risk assessment, preparing and presenting clear and concise technical reports and advising clients on the next steps to develop projects.*Deliver financial modelling and business cases that provide breakdowns of development, capital and operational costs alongside achievable energy yields and financial returns.*Providing technical support during the development of projects, including preparation of CAD drawings, maps, electrical and gas grid connections, resource assessments, visualisations, etc (as required).

Be Able to:*Complete work on several projects within short time periods through effective time management.*Ensure all works are completed to the required quality standards and in line with procedures, on time and to budget.*Manage projects and associated budgets.*Recruit and employ additional team members.*Communicate report outputs to clients effectively and professionally and manage client expectations.
Qualifications:*Adegree in a relevant energy or engineering discipline.*Member of a relevant professional engineering institute (eg IMechE, IET, EI, CIBSE) is desirable.*The following additional accreditations and training are desirable eg Resource Efficient Scotland Consultant, BREEAM accreditations, CIBSE low carbon consultant or energy assessor; EPCs; CDM awareness : Health and Safety qualifications; Project Management Qualifications.
Experience:*Experience of engineering and technical software is desirable.*Experience in the delivery of part (or all) of low carbon energy in the built environment and renewable power generation projects (design, specifications, procurement and construction management works).*Practical experience project managing the delivery of relevant low carbon technology.*Experience of business development works within the renewable energy sector.

Starting salary of £46k-65k (negotiable) plus bonuses and profit sharing with annual reviews. Company car or travel expenses. Start date: To be discussed, however the company is willing to delay any start date in order to secure the and recruit the right applicant.
