An excellent opportunity for an Experienced Assistant Estimator Civil Engineering to join a well-established company based in Hertford.

The Company:

They are a diverse agribusiness based in Hertfordshire. They are a leading provider of services for the agricultural, construction, sports amenities, and biomass sectors.

They are looking for an Assistant Civils Estimator to join the team, working on tenders ranging from £1m - £5m you will be required to provide assistance and support to our Commercial team.

This role may suit an individual with exposure to or aspirations of furthering a career in Estimating or Quantity Surveying.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the preparation of Tender submissions for Groundworks projects.
  • Researching and seeking suitable tender opportunities.
  • Electronic measurement from drawings Training and Software to be provided
  • Aiding in producing Bills of Quantities.
  • Administration of pre-project information and analysing sub-contractor quotations to put forward the best option.
  • Going out to the market to source best prices for building materials and selecting suppliers to support live projects.

Build up tender price from first principles based on the scope of works, plans, specification, programme.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Preferably degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or on course to attain this however, this can be outweighed by on site experience and a positive can-do confident approach.
  • Experienced in varying types of projects including earthworks, groundworks, substructure concrete, paving, roadworks, drainage, sewers.
  • A confident communicator with all members of staff; a team player. You must have excellent interpersonal skills; maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers and have a personable character.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to adhere to strict deadlines on a daily & weekly basis.

Microsoft office proficient.

This is a full-time position and in return the company is offering a Competitive Salary of £30,000 - £40,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience, plus a company Laptop.
