GVR Solutions are currently representing a Civil Engineering and Groundworks Contractor who are looking to expand their existing commercial department with an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor, they would also look at a dual role so someone who does Estimator/Quantity Surveyor. This position is a hybrid role, working from home, office and possibility site visits.
The Client specialise in Structural Civils & Alterations, Deep Basements, Groundworks, piling within the high end prime Residential sector in some of London's most affluent areas.
The role of Estimator/Quantity Surveyor is to obtain the relevant Information to price, detailing breakdowns of rates, cost and reporting information to assist with project and work budgets.
As an Estimator/Surveyor you are required to be highly numerate and typically understand and collate information to enable production of an entire project budget. There should also be a sound knowledge of building legislation, civils Packages and materials, design, etc.

- Tender interrogation and bid production
- Develop a sound understanding of tender packs and the contractual requirements
- Preparation and issue of bids to prospective clients with the aid of other departments
- Issuing of information to production staff appropriately presented to enable
- Reporting of successful and unsuccessful bid and the identification of trends to enable more successful bids in the future
- Supplying information to aid accurate costings of variations
- Ensure the commercial targets are achieved including project and programme cost, quality and time.
- Factor in health and safety regulations
- Managing the costs of the project, budgeting and cash flows
- Carry out measurement for valuations
- Analyse progress and reporting
- Identify Opportunities and risks
- Attend post tender and pre-contract meetings.
- Prepare summary reports for the client and other stakeholders
As an Estimator/Surveyor you are required to be highly numerate and typically understand and collate information to enable production of an entire project budget. There should also be a sound knowledge of building legislation, civils Packages and materials, design, etc.
- Experience in estimating and pricing of works for high end residential civils and groundwork packages
- Ability to price general construction works
- Ability to produce accurately measure from drawings
