Senior Engineer (Offshore Future Networks), Ireland
Daily Rate: Up to €440 Euros LTD
Contract length: 12 to 18 Months. Possibility to go permanent after 6months.
5 days per week role remote working & 3 days per month onsite/Dublin, Ireland (travel expenses will be paid)
Ireland's energy sector is facing unprecedented change as it transforms to meet global sustainability challenges and the ambitious objectives set out in government objectives. Our client a top tier/big 4 global management consultancy firm in Ireland are currently supporting a number of their clients to meet these significant challenges.
Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer with 4+ years' experience, who has a strong Offshore Strategy / Standards. The first 12 months of the project will be more focused on high level design. They are ideallylooking for experience in developing network strategies, transmission development plans, developing/applying transmission development standards - ideally with some experience in offshore connections.
Hence we are looking for Engineers with one or more of the following skills sets: Offshore Network Design, Offshore Network Strategy, OFTO, Offshore Transmission Network Review (OTNR), Security & Quality of Supply Standards (SQSS), Techno-economic studies, PSS/e, PLEXOS, Digsilent Power Factory, Power System Studies / Analysis, Load Flow, Short Circuit Studies, Offshore Networks
Responsibilities include:
Support the Offshore Future Network Project Director in:
Developing a vision of the future offshore transmission network to enable 30 GW of offshore wind by 2040 in Ireland
Implementing day to day management of future offshore network project
Implementing the programme governance (controls)
Planning the overall programme and monitoring its progress toward delivery
Supporting the management of the programme's budget
Tracking risks and issues, taking corrective measurements
Planning, tracking, and reporting on programme up to senior management and executive level
Responsible for leading projects to investigate and understand the evolution of offshore transmission networks
Deliver technical and/or commercial projects designed to meet stakeholder needs in line with company requirements.
Communicate effectively to customers and business stakeholders, including senior management team, via meetings, presentations and reports
Analyse industry and market trends and determine their potential impact.
Requirements:
Engineering degree or equivalent, typically with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience
Proven experience in managing large infrastructure projects, balancing a proficiency in project management with a developed understanding of power systems
Ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders
Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Experience conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions or new ways of doing things
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Commercial awareness with the ability to make decisions and recommendations in all aspects of project implementation
