Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Engineer

Your proactive personality and experience in providing engineering and / or analytical support to energy storage and energy networks projects, will help you to support my client as a Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Engineer.

About the role

The Energy business unit includes a wide range of industries, from renewable energy, oil and gas, nuclear power, and turbomachinery. The Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Engineer role lies within the Renewables Technology group, with responsibilities including the following:

Technical:

Provide high-quality technical analysis of the design and operational performance of energy systems
Analyse and ensure performance of hybrid projects / collocation of BESS - Lead the BESS methodology
Perform technical advisory support for BESS projects, from areas such as feasibility, development and construction, to commissioning and operation
Perform and lead analysis input into concept and design level studies for future energy systems
Develop services to support the transition to net zero

Project management:

Act as technical lead and manage projects in accordance with ISO-9001 accredited processes
Work with colleagues of all disciplines to deliver multidisciplinary projects
Author and verify technical deliverables
Liaise with clients as technical lead

Consultancy:

Shape service development plans and strategies
Develop new business by representing the business at conferences, seminars, and prospective client meetings
Respond to enquiries and writing bids

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess good working knowledge of different BESS technologies and applications, and must be able to meet the following minimum requirements:

Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related discipline. Or relevant, demonstrable experience within a related industry
Experience in providing engineering support to energy storage and energy networks projects. This could include support to government, network owners, storage project developers, and investorsIt would be beneficial if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:

Experience in leading or providing support in Owner's Engineer projects, preferably related to BESS projects
Experience in providing cost-benefit analysis, business case development, technical due diligence, power systems simulation, asset management and future energy scenarios modelling
Experience in modelling BESS
Experience in writing proposals, liaising with clients, and business development
