Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer - Edinburgh

Are you a Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Geotechnical Engineer and looking for your next opportunity in Scotland? If so, my client might be of interest to you. They are medium/large sized multidisciplinary with several offices across the UK. The company has specialist geotechnical and environmental resources strategically located through the network of their offices to be able to provide national coverage from local staff. Working closely with their colleagues in other disciplines within the company, they ensure that their contribution is properly aligned with the project constraints and objectives.

Due to an increasing forward workload, they are currently looking to appoint an experienced Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join the Edinburgh Office. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects spanning the transportation, industrial, retail, residential and commercial sectors.
Responsibilities:

oGeotechnical reporting and management of site investigations
oManipulation and interpretation of geotechnical data from site investigations for wide range of schemes
oPrepare ground models and design parameters
oUndertake Geotechnical analysis and design e.g. Pile design, settlement, slope stability assessments etc
oManage and mentor junior staff

Qualifications / Experience:

oFirst degree in Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology
oAn MSc in Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology would be advantageous
oExperience in use of geotechnical software for slope stability modelling, rock slope design, Settle 3D
oExperience of PLAXIS would be advantageous
oTypically, six to eight years post graduate experience approaching chartership through Institution of Civil Engineers or Geological Society
oAbility to manage multiple projects
oFlexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structure
oGood communication skills across disciplines
oClean driving license
