A Structural Engineer is required by a modern, forward thinking multi-disciplined Engineering Consultancy in Birmingham. Due to an impressive allocation of new projects my Client seeks a Structural Engineer who is dynamic and confident in their skills as a Structural Design Engineer; someone who is capable of producing accurate structural design packages for projects set across the built environment.
This exciting opportunity will enable you to be fully involved in a strong array of building design projects; utilising your knowledge and skills in the design of concrete, steel timber and masonry whilst working on projects which include but are not limited to: major residential developments, large retirement villages, mixed use developments, multi-storey based projects, industrial and healthcare schemes.
Overview
To develop innovative scheme designs as required by the Directors and Principal engineers
To be pro-active in the delivery of projects within timescale, budget constraints and quality expectations
Pro-actively respond to design queries during construction phase and attend site meetings as and if required
Communicate project's critical issues to line manager
Ensure that all project related documentation is kept in compliance to the Business Management systems, processes, and procedures
Anticipate challenges and project risks and recommend necessary mitigating measures, and where necessary relay to clientsPerson Specification
BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural engineering disciplines
Demonstrated experience in structural engineering design and construction
Good all-round technical design expertise using British, European and international standards
Prior UK based Consultancy led experience providing you with detailed understanding of British standards and codes of practice
Experience in the management of preparation of drawing and project deliverables
Good understanding of structural theory and strong analytical skills, with proven problem-solving ability
Excellent communication skills coupled with attention to detail and the ability to work closely within a teamIn return for your skills, experience and enthusiasm you will be provided with a fantastic benefits package wihch includes:
