My client is a tier 1 main contractor who are currently looking for a Project Engineer in Colchester to work on a major water project.

The client is a specialist utilities company who are built upon their visions and values of safety, people, delivery and integrity. Furthermore, they have a key agenda for safety to ensure the health and well being of their employees is of top priority. Scopes of works under water include aqueducts, trunk mains, distribution mains, mains renewal, strategic pipelines, refurbs, repair and maintenance, metering services, customer side leakage, diversion works, new connections and leakages.

The client is looking for a Project Engineer to work in the Colchester area on a major water Operations project to supply clean running water to their customers. The Project Engineer will report to the Project Delivery Manager and will advise the construction manager, resource manager, designer, asset planning team, front line operations, customers and external stakeholders.

The Project Engineer will be expected to:

Support the Operational Manager in the delivery of Demand Driven work in times of high workload or resources shortages
Provide regular updates on progress (time, cost and quality) to the Operational Manager and other key internal and external stakeholders ensuring corporate systems are regularly maintained and updated
Receive (and challenge) data and assessments of risk associated with planned needs
Develop solutions in line with corporate governance processes and technical standards
Adhere to all relevant governances especially with regard to authorisation to spend and periodic review
Take responsibility for the accuracy of all data for projects under your control
Complete and comply with all operational site Health & Safety requirements to ensure safe working practicesThe successful candidate must have operational water experience, education to A Level or equivalent and appropriate professional engineering qualifications to compliment your knowledge and experience of customer management and external stakeholder management.
