Location: East Grinstead with some home based work
Duration: 6 months+
Rate: £400 - £500 per day - Umbrella

My client are looking for an Associate Mechanical Engineer with experience within the water industry to work on projects that they have on the Southern Water framework. The work is predominantly water related including non-infrastructure and infrastructure related schemes. This includes wastewater treatment and associated pumping as well as water supply, treatment, and transfer systems. There is however a degree of building services work including small power, lighting, electrical distribution and security and fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities include:
·Project Management
·Design & design governance,
·bid preparation,
·report production,
·specification and tender preparation,
·be able to ensure compliance with current industry standards and to work with all stake holders to ensure successful outcomes,
·be able to produce clear and concise written documentation for operational staff who undertake ongoing operation and maintenance of plant.

Skills and experience:
·BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering
·The candidate shall be able to demonstrate an understanding of engineering principals and design related to their discipline within the water industry (both wastewater and clean water structure) including an understanding of operation and control functions within MCC panels as well as ICA equipment.
·Experience in other engineering industries is accepted and welcomed.
·The applicant shall be able to carry out engineering design and calculations as well as having a basic understanding of other engineering disciplines.
·The Candidates shall have a good understanding of Engineering contracts (NEC 3 & 4).
·Project Management experience is advantageous.
·The candidate shall require an understanding of Health and Safety, DSEAR and HAZOP requirements, including safety requirements within the water and construction industry.
·Evidence of continual CPD development within the Engineering and Construction sectors are considered essential.
·Good communication skills and computer literacy including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft projects are all considered essential, and the candidate will be requested to show previous examples of such skills.
·The candidate will require the ability to be diverse and flexible in nature to meet the changing roles of the employer dependent upon the demands of the commissions.
