I am seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Design Engineer with demonstrable technical experience. The role will be non-location specific with the opportunity to work remotely or within any of the company's UK offices.

As a Senior/Principal Civil Design Engineer, you will be a Chartered (MICE) with a proven track record of successful delivery of design projects from concept to completion. Credibility, competence and technical excellence are a given as the role requires close working with internal and external clients, industry stakeholders and other consultants to develop robust design solutions through collaborative and proactive management of client demands.

The company provides multidisciplinary design and engineering services and integrated solutions across a wide range of sectors on local, national, and international projects. Drawing upon a diverse skill set and a proven track record of delivery they are playing a vital role in some of the world's most complex and exciting engineering projects. These include Education, Commercial, Residential, Aviation, Defence, Energy and Civil Infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills that can support client relationships.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-discipline team.
  • Ability to lead a design team and supervise, and support more junior staff.
  • Be a technically excellent engineer, with established skills and delivery capability.
  • The ability to translate this broad range of technical skills into imaginative ideas which enhance the quality of designs.
  • Proven experience on developing projects from concept to construction stage.
  • The ability to develop scopes of work and delivery programmes.
  • Experience of working with, and managing, small, focused project teams.
  • Assist in preparing bids and generally enhance our work winning capability.
  • Contributing to the delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects as part of a technically focussed design.
  • Production of designs for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.
  • Be the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties.
  • Producing civil specifications.
  • Experience in site surveys, inspection of works carried out on site and monitor quality and compliance with design drawings.
  • Ensuring the provision of efficient and high-quality engineering services, to a high level of quality assurance.
  • Comply with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures.
  • Be aware of and work in compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work and the project BIM Execution plan.

Requirements:

Experience working as a Civil Engineer ideally in the Buildings sector-

  • Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or HND or equivalent experience.
  • Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE).
  • Experience in the design and analysis of drainage, utilities, paved and unpaved surfaces, earthworks, access and accessibility and construction logistics.
  • Experience with current UK design standards and working practices.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, verbal and written (for report writing purposes).
  • Ability to use AutoCAD, Civils' 3D. Revit BIM 360 experience is also desirable.
  • Ability to work and collaborate both independently and as part of a multi-discipline team.
  • Embrace new technologies including digital engineering, automation and parametric design.
  • Driving Licence (desirable).
