Senior Civil Engineer

Are you an ambitious Senior Civil Engineer who is eager for an exciting new challenge that will give you the opportunity to make your mark at a growing and highly progressive multi-disciplinary consultancy where you will lead a civils team?

If so, then we would like to hear from you as our client is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to support their plan for forward thinking and progression. The successful candidate will lead the civils team in their Oxford office on a full time permanent basis.

You will be self-motivating and proactive and capable of driving expansion of existing areas and maximising new sector opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Project management to include preparing quotations, invoicing and responsibility for the commercial success of projects,
Communicating directly with clients, developing client briefs & attending project meeting,
Management of production of technical documents by other team members,
Verifying design calculations and drawings done by other engineers and technicians,
Producing concise technical reports in line with customers' expectations,
Visits to site to represent the company and carry out investigations and monitor construction,
Development of engineering design and details in accordance with project brief,
Preparation of calculations, written reports and specifications,
Managing and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians. Requirements:

A degree in civil engineering,
Previous experience of leading a team would be desirable,
Technical design excellence and detailed understanding of relevant approvals processes for highways and drainage design/adoption, including SuDS,
Up to date knowledge of current UK Codes of Practice, Design Standards, Building Regulations, and Health and Safety,
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients, other members of the team and produce well-written, concise reports,
Experience of managing and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians or a strong interest in developing in this area,
Excellent communication skills. The ideal Senior Civil Engineer should be able to demonstrate development and implementation of organisational policies and procedures whilst successfully leading and managing the team on a day to day basis and meeting targets.

A large part of your role will be leading a team, and you should be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and a proven experience of having successfully led a team.
