MEP & ITS Engineer (Multiple Positions), Ferrovial Construction US Corp., Austin, TX. Develop policies, standards, inspection procedures and evaluation tools for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Gather requirements and integrate them into project design. Provide technical advice, evaluate different results and propose cost-effective and innovative solutions during tender and bid process. Implement complex calculations of roadway illumination and MEP for internal design projects. Ensure project completion according to the schedule, budget, efficiency standards and agreed construction process.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial or Architectural), Construction Management or a related field and two (2) years of related work experience.
Must have two (2) years of experience with/in:
· Designing vertical commercial construction projects;
· Using CAD and BIM to design civil construction projects;
· Performing Quantity Take-Off/Bill of Materials (BOQ);
· Planning, interpreting and applying plans and specifications for the design and construction of mechanical, electrical power, and plumbing systems;
· Performing pipe system hydraulic and structural calculus, including permanent and variable (transient) flow analysis;
· Performing electrical power system dynamics, transients and protection;
· Managing multiple construction projects simultaneously, including planning and overseeing the startup, testing and commissioning of projects;
· Using MEP software tools, including AGI32 to provide illumination engineering design and Trane Trace 700 and Trace 3D to provide HVAC building design and analysis; and
· Lighting designer with AGI32 Illumination Software tool for a minimum of five (5) infrastructure projects in one of the following areas: roadway main lanes, interchanges, bridges, daytime and nighttime underpasses and parking areas.
Up to 15% domestic travel required.
