Job Description

Product Environmental Engineer - Delivery,

In this role you will work as part of the Air Sector Product Integrity team, delivering tools, data and knowledge that allows the Air Sector Product Teams to demonstrate that they are complying with product environmental requirements, and promoting good practice across different Product Teams.

You may represent the Lead Consultant Engineer - Product Integrity in product Design Reviews, where you will advise the Chair on how proposed Engineering development activities satisfy relevant environmental requirements and recommend corrective action where they don't.

You will also, as required, support Product Teams in developing the evidence of compliance with product environmental requirements, under the direction of Product Environmental Engineers deployed in the teams.

Additional Information

WORKING HOURS

- 5 days p/wk (Mon-Fri) around relevant site core hours (7am - 6pm Mon - Thurs, 7am - 12.30pm Fri).

- Hours required to work per week are 37.00 unless otherwise stated (this does not include lunch breaks).
- Start and finish times to be agreed with local Line Management, in accordance with local site core hours.
- Lunch break (unpaid) is 42 minutes which will automatically be deducted each working day from 12.30pm to 13.12pm by the electronic time management system.

- Dependant on workload, local management may request more or less hours are worked within this contract.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:

The Product Environmental Engineer - Delivery is responsible for delivering their work in a timely, consistent and professional manner by: -

* Establishing and delivering engineering activities using systems integration or systems engineering techniques

* Validation and challenge of compliance evidence through professional judgement and constructive feedback, performance of audit and assurance activities, including involvement in design and phase review assessments (as appropriate)

* Recovery of the product integrity of Air products through investigation, root cause analysis, technical instruction (using technical writing skills) and recommending potential design change

* Exploitation of learning from across the Air Sector and other BAE Systems Units, Customers and Suppliers using appropriate alerting, lessons learned and promotional processes.

* Management of environmental impacts in product development and across the lifecycle

* Engineering Lifecycle, especially where associated with the common engineering processes

* Engineering qualifications minimum degree, environmental would be beneficial

NVQ Level 4/Engineering degree

The candidate must have excellent skills in Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook and good skills in Word and PowerPoint
