We are a leading company specialising in precast concrete elements and looking for a Quality and Environmental Control Engineer for a major project at our factory in London Thamesport, Isle of Grain (ME3 0EP Kent).

Join a leading firm in the design, manufacture and assembly of precast, prestressed reinforced concrete structures for both civil engineering and building construction.

This role works within the quality team to ensure the overall quality of the manufactured products and has the following duties:

Inspection and test plan:

· to review ITPs, ensuring adequacy of the control points to meet specifications and standards requirements in terms of frequency and acceptance criteria and records. to keep track on and lead review of ITP with the involved teams.

· to support the production team on quality control related aspects.

Inspection on and off site:

· to implement and complete inspections on site.

· to inspect the works where necessary and report to the manager.

· to engage with all the involved parties to agree on inspection regime.

· To ensure, as part of the self-certification processes, that adequate level of inspection and monitoring are implemented and that the works comply with the contract requirements and the specifications.

NCR:

· to report and manage with the teams any major issues related to non-conformities, compliance of the works.

· to liaise with production teams in the definition of remedial action for non-conformities. to manage quality control issues.

· Certification records to keep track on the production of records and the population of quality record packages and review them once completed.

Surveillance:

· to run surveillances.

· to liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors to maintain quality processes and performance.

Communication:

· to liaise with the relevant team on all matters related to quality control issues / non conformance.

· To prepare, display and communicate internal and external alerts and good practices throughout the project.

Reporting:

· to assist the team on reporting. To take part of and assist for the periodical reporting to the client and partners

· to assist the Quality team on all improvement matters: data monitoring and analysis, KPIs, corrective and preventive actions.

· To take part of the reporting on self-certification

Our successful candidate would be someone who meets the following requirements:
  • University degree in a related field: environmental science, civil engineering, mining engineering, industrial engineering or similar.
  • At least 5 years of previous experience, preferably in the precast concrete and/or construction sector.

Highly valued:
  • Training and/or experience in quality management: ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
  • Experience in complex civil engineering and/or building construction projects. Experience in projects involving international teams and stakeholders.
  • Languages: English minimum B1, preferably B2 or higher. Spanish and/or other languages will be highly valued.
  • Availability for occasional national and international trips as required.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, communication skills, analysis skills.
