Do you want to expand your skills in areas including probabilistic assessments and automation of analysis processes?

We are looking for people with experience in structural analysis of high integrity structures in industries such as nuclear, aerospace or defence to join our group in Bristol.

We would be interested to hear about your expertise in assessing structures using methods such including FEA, whether it is during design, certification, or in-service. We would be particularly keen to hear from you if you would like to broaden your skills into areas where we can deliver added value to our customers, including probabilistics assessments, composites, and automating analysis processes through scripting.

Frazer-Nash is trusted to assess and assure the country's most novel and critical assets. Our team is currently working across a wide range of projects including the development of new nuclear reactor designs, the application of composites in offshore wind energy and supporting the development of the new defence systems.

To allow the team to grow further to meet the customer demand we are seeing, we are looking to bring in people who will add to our skilled team, are keen to work in a consultancy environment, delivering to our existing customers and winning work with new customers.

The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A degree in an engineering discipline
  • At least two years' experience of performing structural analysis
  • Experience in a related industry (e.g. defence, energy, aerospace, process, maritime)
  • A strong understanding of the fundamentals of structural analysis
  • Experience with at least one major finite element analysis code

It is to your advantage if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:

  • A relevant PhD
  • Experience automating analysis processes in a code such as Python or Matlab
  • Experience managing projects
  • An understanding of statistical and probabilistic approaches
  • An interest in data science including machine learning

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-­Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
