Major leading railway infrastructure contactor with an outstanding reputation within the industry for high performance and innovation is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee the delivery of renewal and enhancements schemes within the rail and civil engineering sector ensuring completion of each project to required time, budget and commercial constraints, managing an operational team from pre-construction stage through to completion of each live project
Duties and responsibilities will include :
Overall accountability for the management of staff including recruitment, promotion, discipline, motivation, appraisals, and rostering, appraise, manage and develop training and development needs for all areas of the division, establish and maintain communication channels and a robust briefing structure on all business issues. Responsibility for operational safety performance and the Health, Safety and Welfare of employees and projects, undertake regular safety reviews on projects and where appropriate undertake safety improvement initiatives
The appropriate candidate will have a track record of operational leadership in a similar environment with previous relevant industry experience, be educated to degree level or equivalent or have membership of a related professional institution, they will be an experienced natural leader and team player who can direct, motivate, support and develop who is committed to enhancing the business reputation for safe, effective and reliable delivery
They will have a collaborative approach to building and maintaining high performing teams through effective people management and communication skills with a proactive and flexible approach to change coupled with the ability to deliver change initiatives in a team or organisation
Salary and benefits circa £80,000 - £85,000 + car, bonus + bens
