SALARY: $114,544.00 per year
HOURS OF WORK: 4/10's, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., M-Th
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with development plan reviews for public agencies and SNWA projects; hydraulic modeling and water facility design; and pipe support submittal packages as well as shop drawing reviews.
The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication skills relative to civil engineering concepts.
NOTE: The hiring department may consider applicants at the Civil Engineer level.
Civil Engineer Salary: $109,090.00 annually
Minimum Qualifications (Civil Engineer): Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering; and three years of responsible professional civil engineering experience, preferably in a water utility; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Upon registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada, a Civil Engineer will advance to Civil Engineer, P.E.
INTRODUCTION: Human Resources will screen applications and supplemental questionnaires. Candidates possessing the strongest skills and experience for this position will be forwarded to the hiring department for further evaluation and to determine who will be invited to the formal interview process. The candidate hired will be required to pass a drug screening, background check and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluation.
Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering; and three years of responsible professional civil engineering experience, preferably in a water utility; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Upon registration as a Professional Engineer, a Civil Engineer will advance to Civil Engineer (P.E.).
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
Some positions may require a valid Nevada driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy.
Civil Engineer P.E.: Certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of Nevada.
