First People Solutions is currently working with a leading multidisciplinary Consulting Engineers in the UK, who are looking for ambitious Senior / Principal Environmental Engineers to join their expanding team. Providing engineering, permitting and environmental monitoring services for a wide range of landfill sector clients, our client is looking for experienced Engineers to lead and direct the delivery of this work.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with extensive project management, client management, technical reporting and engineering design of landfill and earthworks experience. This is a Lead Engineer role in the company and there is an opportunity to progress to Associate level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineering design of landfills and related works (lining, capping, restoration, SUDS, landscaping).
• Provide significant operational and technical support on engineering projects pertaining to environmental compliance, materials management, and waste management.
• As needed, participate in and lead Resource Management contributions to frameworks and individual commissions.
• As the leader of the team, you will be responsible for directing all aspects of landfill design and related civil engineering, permit compliance, waste management, contract procurement and management, and CDM2015 Principal Designer duties.
• Managing relationships with individual clients to maximize opportunities within the company while maintaining high levels of service.

Your experience, background and approach to work will include:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or environmental related discipline
• Chartered (CEng) status preferred
• Technical knowledge of waste management, landfill design, or civil/environmental engineering
• Expertise with program management, resourcing, and monitoring of projects
• Be client facing and manage projects effectively
• Can mentor graduate engineers
