Super contemporary consultancy with excellent work life balanceI am working with a multi-award winning civil and structural engineering practice in Cardiff with a substantial share of the local market. This practice is in the process of moving from the Northern part of Cardiff to the city centre and is also easily accessible by car, however home working is encouraged if desired. The business has a contemporary image and has 14 offices across the country. They specialise in cutting edge projects from a variety of sectors, recent projects have including a large production facility for a nationally recognised drinks brand.We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer and project lead with the following responsibilities:
  • Producing detailed design calculations
  • Mentoring and assisting in the development of Graduates
  • Liaising closely with architects and contractors as well as other design teams
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients
  • Attending design team meetings
  • Visiting site and producing structural reports
Current local projects include:
  • Large healthcare schemes for radiotherapy units, mental health facilities and cancer care centres from £15m to £200m
  • Welsh secondary schools. New build, refurb and extension
This practice is also confidentially working on a major industrial projects of significant cultural significance to the region.This engineering consultancy has a fantastic reputation and would make a superb addition to any engineer's CV. Candidates will ideally meet the following criteria:
  • BEng/MEng degree in a relevant subject; structural engineering, civil engineering , architectural engineering
  • Chartered status with the IStructE or ICE - desirable but not essential
  • Some degree of experience with EuroCodes
  • Design Experience with all traditional materials
  • Confident and proactive attitude
  • The ability to manage own workload
The business is willing to consider candidates up to Principal level, as such the salary bracket for this role is £40,000 - £47,000 + package. This highly competitive package includes a 7% pension, flexible healthcare options, a employee owned profit share scheme, market leading home working options and 25 days holiday.
