An opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Civil Environmental Engineer to join a leading Engineering Consultancy delivering professional services to the water / wastewater industry in Northern Ireland.
Our client has had an established partnering arrangement with Northern Ireland Water (NIW) for over 10 years for the provision of project management and design services covering a wide range of water / wastewater network projects. Staff will be required to be co-located within NI Water premises in Belfast or Craigavon and work within an integrated NI Water team to complete assessment of applications made by developers for connections to the wastewater network.
Wastewater network experience will be an advantage, either design basis or construction (site basis).
As Graduate Civil / Environmental Engineer you will primarily be involved with the pre-construction phase of works. Key activities include:
Undertaking assessment of foul sewer proposals submitted by developers, review of drawings and calculations.
Arranging and reviewing CCTV surveys.
Checking and Approval of "As Constructed" Drawings.
Attending site meetings as required.
Undertaking other sewer adoption activity as directed within Article 161.
Site and Desktop Development Checks.
Undertaking Microdrainage Assessment of storm layouts, training will be given.
Undertaking structural assessment of geo-cellular storage tanks, training will be given.To be considered for the role you will have:
A third level qualification (Degree, NHD, HNC) in a related subject such as Civil / Environmental Engineering.
Previous experience within in a design or site based role within the water / wastewater industry which can include a placement year is desirable.
Proficient in the use of MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Access.
Knowledge / Experience of AutoCAD and other related software is desirable. Training can be given.
A current valid driving license or access to a form of transport which will enable you to fulfil the responsibilities of the post.You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal and an ability to provide stakeholder management and customer care.
