Quarry Manufacturing & Supplies have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Mechanical and Structural Design Engineer with an excellent eye for detail to join our team based in Coalville.

Mechanical and Structural Design Engineer:
  • £40,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience plus discretionary bonus
  • Full time, Permanent position
  • Bardon Hill, Coalville, Leicestershire with travel to customer sites as required
  • Office based role but with flexible working and / or hybrid working potential.
  • Pension, sick pay and 33 days holiday

Mechanical and Structural Design Engineer Position Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual looking to take the next step in their career and become an integral part of our brilliant team in line with the continued market and industry growth.

Your role will be to create drawings for production that are accurate, cost-effective ad easy to manufacture. You will be producing plant layouts and diagrams suitable for project tender.

You will be responsible for the structural and mechanical design of crushing and screening plant for the quarry and mining industry, as a mechanical and structural design engineer you will be involved in visiting customer sites and survey existing structures, being effective and competent in the use of Solidworks and ideally Autodesk Navis Works/AutoCAD.

Mechanical and Structural Design Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the structural and mechanical design of crushing and screening plant for the quarry and mining industry
  • Create drawings for production that are accurate, cost-effective and easy to manufacture
  • Produce plant layouts and diagrams suitable for project tender
  • Effective and competent in the use of Solidworks
  • Visit customer sites and survey existing structures

Mechanical and Structural Design Engineer Qualifications, Skill & Experience Requirements:
  • Degree or other higher-level qualification (HNC or above) in Mechanical or Structural (fabrication / sheet metal) engineering.
  • Experienced in using CAD software ideally Solidworks
  • Experience of using Autodesk Navis Works and AutoCAD would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in a similar engineering environment designing structural and mechanical products
  • Experience within bulk handling industry, ideally within process plant and machinery integration environment
  • Experience with new project design and build
  • Experience of working within CDM (Construction & Design Management) environments
  • Experience of TCF (Technical Construction File) documentation
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Experience communicating accurately and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • A supportive and cooperative team player
  • Able to lead by example and inspire others
